Marley Trifunovic
Fresh back from the USA, player and coach Marley is bursting with enthusiasm for the fast-growing sport of pickleball and is on a mission to build it big in the UK! She's also an accomplished tennis player with an impressive roll of club and college achievements. 1. How did you get into Pickleball? While I was studying in America on a tennis scholarship -pickleball is huge over there. My tennis club had pickleball courts and we played for fun. I really enjoyed it and thought it would be great for people in the UK to know how to play this sport. It has a diverse appeal, it's easy to pick up and play at all levels. It's a great multi-generational sport, and you can start it at any age, from a child to a senior! 2. What do you love most about Pickleball? The social aspect of it is really nice. Because it's doubles you always have four people on the court. It is competitive but in a fun way: lots of people turn up to play, talk, meet and grab some food and drink afterwards. In the USA it was my favourite leisure activity. 3. What’s the most frustrating thing about pickleball? The lack of people to play with in the UK - hence that's why I want to spread the word as a pdhsports.com Pickleball Ambassador! 4. If you could play pickleball with anyone who would it be? Tennis champion Carlos Alcaraz - I'd love to see him making some agile moves on a compact pickleball court! 5. Tell us about your current paddle and why it works for you I love my Diadem paddle - it's great to use because it's light and comfortable to play with. They have a brilliant range to suit all kinds of players.
