You don't have to have a racket bag but if you do, it will help protect you padel racket from damage. Most padel bags have room for balls and clothing too, so if you have one, you can keep all your padel kit together in one place. Then you can just grab it and go when you're next heading out for a game. 

There are plenty of bags designed specifically for padel - they have compartments shaped specifically to accommodate padel rackets. You can get a bag for just one racket or for several. They may hold only rackets, or have pockets for other kit. Padel racket bags come in different sizes. Some are large, with plenty of space for rackets, balls, shoes, clothing and a bottle of water. Others are more compact. A backpack might suit you if you carry kit on foot or by bike. A holdall usually offers more space and flexibility. An alternative is to buy a multisports bag - it's a great solution if you want to use it to carry kit for different sports on some occasions. 

The most important question is how many rackets you want to carry with you. There are padel bags with room for just one racket - ideal for the casual player. Or for a high-level padel expert, you can buy a bag for nine rackets! Think about what kit you need to carry. Space for shoes could be useful if you're not travelling in your padel shoes. Look for a ventilated shoe compartment to keep your padel shoes fresh! If you're brand conscious think about the logo and design you prefer. Make sure your chosen bag is comfortable to carry, whether you prefer an over-the-shoulder style or a backpack that keeps your hands free.

You can use a multi-sports bag for padel, or a tennis bag. The only issue will be that in a bag designed for tennis equipment, the racket compartments will be too large to keep your padel racket from moving around. 

The cost of a padel bag could be influenced by the quality of materials, durability, the number of features and the brand. If you play casually, a standard bag will serve you well. If you're a very frequent player or you're constantly throwing your bag into the car boot or a luggage compartment, you might want to trade up to something more robustly engineered, which could increase the price. A bag for several rackets will likely cost more than a bag for just one racket. Stylish and attractively designed bags can be more expensive than a basic and practical plain bag. Whether it's a top of the range or a simple bag, check that the straps are strong and securely fastened to the bag and that there's enough padding to protect your padel racket.
